Have kids they said... it'll...be... fun... they said

...mom...mum...mommmmyyyy...

It’s never a dull moment over here… First day of 3rd grade virtual academy… done… how strange that this is my 4th and last time doing the first day of 3rd grade.

Orientation and I did not check my email, so I didn’t realize that we were supposed to be in attendance for a meeting, with the entire k-5 grade for this state’s virtual education system, for the first day instead of willy nilly and sleeping in the way I expected the first day to go. So I open my sons computer and I see that there is a meeting IN PROGRESS and it is listed as REQUIRED, so I frantically wake him up super-fast and sit him in front of the computer with the camera and mic off, so we can try to get it together… EVEN THOUGH WE WERE 30 MIN LATE. We get in and  I see several parents proudly standing beside their children, with their maps and globes and all the things that let you know that they are taking homeschooling very seriously and they seem to be in need of their own gold stars also.

My child has a difficult time holding still and so do I, so here we sit as I watch him brilliantly figure out every single button and its function...  I lean my head back on the couch, I had a nightmare the night before and I got about 3 miliseconds of sleep,  I started dozing off an woke up to the feeling of my mouth starting to gape open in my state of rest. WELL… as I open my eyes an look up, I see that my child has pointed his computer at me and I see ME in the cam… I realize that the entire orientation had seen my mouth hanging wide open  and my exhaustion posture, so I lunge at the computer to shut it , annoyed, and she scoots it a little out of reach so that I had to tussle to remove myself form the video feed’s view. HE W AS laughing hysterically. I gave him the look of disapproval when we got the camera back off, but he still tried to sneak me in frame every chance he got, IN MY WORST APPEARING state .

I imagine that some of the adults were eager to see the moment when I noticed that my son was  recording me, as I awaked from the hibernation nap.

SO THIS IS IT! HORAY FOR THIRD GRADE… and HORAY FOR ME… his learning coach .

No matter what, I love this mom thing… even the moments that take a little while to be able to laugh about.

blessed beyond measure ... but a little stressed too. xoxo
